Tell me more

Tell me more

Tell me more, my friend
Of this joy in you,
Why your day is feast,
Why comfort joins your dark.

Tell me the source
of this strange full light
That seems to drench your path
In trial or in calm,
That walks ever on before.

Is it power from another world
That makes you love the weak?
At great cost to you,
The unlovable, the strange.

That moves you to those craggy heights
To seek those aching hearts?
And follows you in darkness deep,
giving purpose to your pain?

Share with me this light,
This joy, this calm.
Tell me, for could it be —
A friend I have yet to meet?

Gently share,
Don't make me guess
The source, the peace,
In you.
