Look at the birds

Dear momma so scared, look at the birds. Do they worry for their seeds? Do they ask for the forecast or wonder if they will have fuzz and twigs for their nests that hold their babies?

Look at the lilies. See their gusty brilliance. They grow and they don’t worry if their little seed pods will have all they need to grow. The Father packed their lunch box the same way you packed your dear one’s lunch last night. Do they fear? In all their beauty? Do they dread tomorrow?

Don’t you know He loves you more than these? He gives these birds a home in the rafters of His house. Will He not also, always give you a place there? Don’t waste today being scared of tomorrow. Your Father knows you have great need. But His supply is greater.

Dear momma so scared, your Father is bigger than the leaders and the wars and the troubles that burden your heart and have you holding your littles close. You falter in your care for them, but will He not perfectly care for you?

Dear momma so scared, look at the birds.

“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” (Matthew 6:24).

“Even the sparrow has found a home,
    and the swallow a nest for herself,
   where she may have her young—
a place near Your altar,
   Lord Almighty, my King and my God.
Blessed are those who dwell in Your house;
 they are ever praising You” (Psalm 84:3-4).
